If you suffer from incorrectly positioned teeth, orthodontic treatment is for you. Orthodontics is a field of dentistry that aims to straighten and align teeth.
With nearly three decades of experience in the field, Dr. Robert Milner offers numerous orthodontic treatment options to help you achieve the smile you deserve.
Crowded Teeth
Dental crowding (crowded teeth or malocclusion) is a condition where there is an insufficient amount of space in your mouth to accommodate all of your teeth properly. Crowded teeth can cause significant dental issues, including gum disease, mouth pain, and premature tooth wear.
Overbite
An overbite is a dental condition where your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. This is an extremely common condition that, for most people, is not a problem. However, if your overbite is on the larger side, you may develop a “deep bite,” a condition where you may experience premature tooth wear and jaw pain.
Underbite
An underbite is a dental condition where your lower teeth extend out from the mouth more than their upper counterparts. Unlike an overbite, an underbite is far more likely to cause significant distress. In extreme cases, an underbite can lead to difficulty with speaking and eating. Significant jaw misalignment and pain may occur.
Crossbite
A crossbite is a misalignment of your upper and lower teeth. There are a couple types of crossbite: anterior, similar to an underbite, and posterior, where some upper teeth end up on the inside of your lower teeth when the jaw is closed.
Gap Teeth
Gap teeth, also known as diastema, is a condition characterized by a space between two teeth. Treating this condition may require a full dental realignment with braces: speak with your dentist to determine the best treatment option.
Open Bite
An open bite is another type of malocclusion where the upper and lower teeth do not touch when the mouth is closed. Not only is an open bite aesthetically unappealing, it can also lead to difficulty with speaking and eating. It may also contribute to premature tooth wear.
